In my personal point of view the most effective way to travel is by auto. So when my good friend, Greg, as well as I determined to take place a trip to Cape Town we decided that vehicle rental would certainly be the initial on our "must-do" listing. We selected a small hatchback to zip around on our trip from Cape Community to Hermanus and also back to the Cape winelands.
On the road ...
We wished to go to Hermanus for two factors. Primarily to go see my old as well as dear friend Michelle, and also second of all for the Whale festival. The drive from Cape Town to Hermanus is stunning. Panoramas as you drive Sir Lowry's hill pass filled with flowers, after that little farmhouses and the occasional store where you can get several of the fresh farm produce that you would never be able to enter the city. So we stopped at Aunt Millie's Farm Stall. Recognized for her fresh house cooked pies we naturally could not withstand stopping for a bite initially. While sitting in the vehicle indulging in among Aunt Millie's infamous pies, we were bordered by the most breath-taking sight around us.
Back when traveling the exhilaration of seeing an old good friend as well as the truth that I was on the open roadway once more was precisely why I liked driving with the countryside. Getting on the open road constantly provides me a sense of liberty which you don't experience a lot when residing in the city. There's nothing rushing you to simply get from A to B, however taking your time to appreciate what most individuals simply take for provided in their thrill. Road tripping is not regarding the location, however the trip.
A whale of a time ...
When we at some point got to Hermanus we were welcomed with what I dislike most, website traffic. Travelers like us concerning community for the Whale event. Fortunately it had not been too frantic, unlike rushour web traffic in the big cities. After we had found parking we waited at the local bar for Michelle to เช่ารถ find as well as join us. She soon joined us and we toasted to the good life. After capturing up a little bit we relocated to the beach front for some whale viewing. Each year the whales migrate to the Cape waters for their breeding season, providing us much enjoyment as they do their bit of showing off. The whales rise close in the bay and each sight of a tail or a fin triggers much exhilaration for everybody seeing them from the coast. Just how lucky one really feels to be part of what must be such a little part of their lives.
After much time spent just enjoying the sight of the whales we carried on to the celebrations that were happening around. There were flea markets and also beer gardens, children playing around with painted faces and also balloons, and also music playing on the audio speakers for everyone's satisfaction. The atmosphere was infectious, everyone appeared pleased.
Continuing our trip ...
After spending two more days in Hermanus, overtaking Michelle, sharing jokes and even more whale-watching, Greg and also I were quickly on the road again. We took the lengthy roadway back towards the Cape winelands. I was fairly the delighted snapper when Greg was driving. I was taking a lot of photos, however being the amateur professional photographer I am, it virtually seemed like an oppression to the elegance of the winelands. You can not actually record the essence of what you experience when looking at such spectacular sights. We quit at what appeared like every little shop on the side of the roadway, taking our time to simply delight in the uniqueness surrounding us. We took every dirt road as well as steered clear of any kind of highways. We really did not set timetables and really did not schedule any type of accommodation ahead of time, since this is not what a trip ought to have to do with. It is about enjoying whatever comes your way as well as being spontaneous!
